The NAU Project is dedicated to inspire environmental awareness and inter-tribal unity through the arts.
The NAU Project is an artistic initiative to unite Native American artists who aim to raise awareness for the current attacks on Native American land, culture and people by the modern coal and oil industries. The NAU project was inspired by the Moapa Paiutes successful fight against the coal industry and the legendary Paiute leader Wovoka. Through the arts, NAU aims to spread Wovoka’s message of inter-tribal unity and the importance of song and dance to overcome all obstacles, peacefully.
"You ask me to plow the ground. Shall I take a knife and tear my mother's bosom? Then when I die she will not take me to her bosom to rest." -Wovoka
